Description of Proposal for Retail Destination

Gridshell Ovoid Shaped Dome of between Circa 100m x 150m Axial length. Biome likely to be Composite Structure comprised of Steel or Glue Laminated Timber Gridshell sections supported by a Steel Superstructure. Steel Superstructure might be comprised of Tree Shaped Steel Mega Columns or alternatively Arch shaped Bolt Box Steel Trusses with a Triangular shaped sectional profile, spanning between R.C. Buttress walls or a Reinforced Perimeter Ground Beam. Glazed Gridshell Roof to be composed of Triangular Sections or Larger Hexagonal Sections.

BioDome to be 5 to 6 Storeys over Ground Level with from 1 to 3 Basement Levels. Separate Steel or braced R.C. Superstructure to support Pedestrian ‘SkyWalk’ spanning between upper Floor Levels. Climate Controlled Environment condusive to Plant Growth. Planted Central Feature with recirculating Irrigation System and shallow moat Water feature as surround. Continuous Planted Wall / Embankment Water Feature to Perimeter at Ground Floor Level maintained by Irrigation System.

Outline Schedule of Accommodation

Basement Level 1 to be Foodhall, Retail, Plant / MEP and Car Parking. Basement Level 2 & 3 to be Car Parking. Ground Floor Level / 1st Floor / 2nd Floor Level to be Retail with predominantly High End & Luxury / Premium Brands and Food&Beverage rather than High Street Retailers / Brands. 3rd /4th Floor Levels to be Retail & High End Dining with some provision for adaptability for Office Space. Rooftop level to be Exotic Plants Exhibition / Gardens / Leisure / Children’s Play Areas / Educational / Niche Attractions etc .
