Backround
These Proposals were conceived as ‘What If’ / Forward Thinking / Proactive Responses to Sites with Future Development Potential. The Design Intent inherent in the Proposals aims to be on balance both Commercially realistic and reasonable whilst also making a greater than average contribution to the Urban Realm. The Fundamental Strategy behind the Commercial Proposals is to put forward Ideas / Designs for consideration that would be unlikely to be conceived by most Developers. The Civic minded Proposals are Idealistic in nature.
Benefits of Forward Looking Development Propositions
A Proactive / Plan Led approach allows a Designer / Originator more freedom to progress their Preferred / Recommended Design Response when removed from the influence of Multiple Parties whose agendas are often diametrically opposed. Solutions may emerge that might not or could not, have occurred via Conventional Planning processes. Having Pre Published Proposals available for Consideration where Design intent is outlined can be advantageous. These Design Proposals require further input and development, however some Proposals are sufficiently well defined to provide a framework or direction from which more detailed work might be advanced.
